One Day

Standard

At dawn eyes open
And explode
In all shades of the rainbow.
But at mid day,
The sun hides behind greyish clouds.
A veiled virgin.
Light falls into a colander
And dissipates like rice on newlyweds.
It’s evening.
The sun sinks behind the bare hills,
Dragging its red hair
On the horizon.
All sunsets unique.
It’s nightfall.
All in black since
the world mourns
another day.
